Adopt-a-Spot

Morristown Clean Communities Program is seeking volunteers to “adopt” a public park, playground, monument, or traffic island.

Families, individuals and community groups are needed to take care of a public spot throughout the year. We ask that volunteers agree to keep an eye on and to perform litter pick-ups and sometimes, minor landscaping at an assigned location at least four times per year. Supplies and instructions are provided by the Clean Communities Program.

“Adopt-a-Spot” is a simple and fun way of participating in our community.
Current spots in need of adoption are: the Washington Statue on Morris Ave, the Morris Frank mini-park at Park Pl, and the Hiker Monument at Blatchley Pl. and Elm Street.

Please contact Kathleen O’Neill Margiotta to volunteer.

bike rackMorristown Bicycle Rack Program

Morristown has a bicycle rack program to help with bicycle parking. This bike rack was chosen as it isa complement to our streetscape project and as a means to encourage and accommodate eco-friendly transportation. It is a Vintage Rack by Cycle-Safe and is a novel blend of the old and the new. Vintage Racks™ were developed in response to urban planners' efforts to recreate historic streetscapes as counterpoints to the hustle and bustle of the modern world.

As part of the Morristown Partnership’s and Town of Morristown’s downtown streetscape plan, we are offering business or individuals the opportunity to purchase a bike rack to be place in downtown Morristown. Your name will be placed on the rack. Many sites are available. To order a bicycle rack, click here to get to the attached order form, complete your order and then fax your order to to (973) 455-1147. Here is a link to the order form.
