The Tax Collector oversees and administers Tax and Sewer Bills for the Town of Morristown. Tax and Sewer Bills are due in four installments:

Relief Deductions
The Tax Collector can assist town residents that qualify for relief deductions that include Veterans, Senior citizens, Disabled persons and surviving spouses.
- Veteran’s $250.00 annual Deductions. Must have active wartime service and copy of Form DD214 (honorable discharge).(form)
- Seniors and Disabled person $250.00 annual Deductions. Income (including spouse's income) cannot exceed $10,000 per year, not including Social Security or Federal, State, County or Municipal Government pension. (form)
Property Tax Bills
Property tax bills are mailed once a year in July and contain four (4) quarterly payments.
Taxes are due February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1
If you pay your taxes through your mortgage company, the statement will say "This is not a bill, for advice only".
If you receive an "advice only" statement, but do not have a mortgage company, use this statement to pay your taxes.
When selling your property, this bill must be handed over to the new owner at the time of closing.
General Information
Payments can be made by mail or in person at our office during regular business hours.
Payments must be in our office by the end of the grace period as the State of NJ does not allow the use of postmarks for tax payment acceptance dates.
Payments can be made in cash, personal checks or money orders only. Credit cards are not accepted.
