The Morristown Housing Authority Board of Commissioners are responsible for setting policy, which govern the operations of the Housing Authority, ensuring that the agency operates within the law according to The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations. The Executive Director of the Housing Authority is selected by the Board of Commissioners and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Housing Authority.
Morristown Housing Authority oversees 470 units of housing. 270 units are for senior citizens, 200 units of family housing, and the Housing Choice Voucher Program, which assists family with their rent to private landlords within the Town of Morristown.
The NJ Department of Community Affairs requires that all commissioners take five courses, which are offered by the Center for Government Services.
