Important Information
Rain Days: Playgrounds will be closed. There is no shelter area for the program in the event of rain. If it rains after the start of the day, please pick up your child promptly.
Early Dismissal: For your child’s safety, you must give the counselor a written and signed note if your child is permitted to leave early from the playground, complete with name of person picking-up your child.
Release Authorization: Please note on your Registration-Permission Form all emergency information including names of people to whom you authorize the release of your child. Also note if your child will be walking or riding a bike to/from, or will be picked-up from the playground and by whom.
Medical Information: Please indicate specific medical information and make the counselor aware of any allergies to food products, bee stings, etc.
Activity Schedules will be distributed as you register. This schedule will give a general outline of the weeks’ upcoming activities, special events, and trips.
Field Trip Policy: The Playgrounds themselves are closed for the duration of a trip. Please note that some trips are only a few hours in duration, while others will last the entire day. Trips are “First come, First serve” as there are limited tickets. So, fill-out, sign and return permission forms to Playground Leaders A.S.A.P. Times listed on calendar of events are the bus departure time. The field trip flyer/permission slip will have actual time of departure and return.
Trip Fees and Permission Slips must be in before the trip. If you wish to attend as a chaperone, space permitting, parents are welcome to attend and accompany an assigned group, please speak to your Playground site Director. Playground hours may change on days of the trips – this will be provided along with the trip information ahead of time.
Sneakers are recommended to be worn to the Summer Playground program, for safety reasons.
Bicycles are to be parked away from the program activities in a spot that will be designated by the staff. Bicycles are not to be ridden during the program hours, except during times specified by the playground staff.
Misconduct: Fighting, disobeying rules and safety regulations, foul language, etc. will not be tolerated. One warning to the child will take place. If the behavior persists, the child will be asked to leave the Playground that day and parent/guardian will be notified. Repeated offenses will require a meeting with the parent/guardian before the child will be re-admitted to the Playground program.
