Applying for a Marriage or Civil Union License:
You should apply for your marriage or civil union license in the Town of Morristown only if either partner is a resident in the Town of Morristown, or, if both partners are out of state residents whose ceremony is in the Town of Morristown.
For those who will be applying for their license in Morristown this is what you both must bring with you:
- Proof that one partner lives in the Town of Morristown. (drivers license, bill, mail, etc.)
- Both need copies of a birth certificate or passport.
- If previously married a copy of the divorce decree or death certificate.
- 1 witness over 18 years of age. They can be a family member.
- $28.00 fee
The Marriage or Civil Union Application must be typed
We hold the license for 72 hours.

Remarriage or Reaffirmation of Civil Union
The process for obtaining a remarriage or reaffirmation of a civil union is the same as a marriage or civil union license. However, the 72 hour waiting period does not apply.
